Question #1:
where can i check my credit rating/report for free?
hiya please help i need to check my credit rating i need a loan n need to know why im getting rejected as i always thoughtn i had a good credit rating? xany online sites i can check on?
Question #2:
Please review this and let me know what you think? :)?
I am applying for my first Studio, its a low income housing complex that has a very intense screening process. They pull your credit report and it has to be at 650 or higher (Im at like 653 w/ Experian- but I dont know what bureau they use that might make my score a little lower. A coworker has suggested turning in a friendly statement of facts along w/ a copy of my experian report explaining any points they may possibly view as negative. Please read the below and let me know if you think its too much? Its okay? Any advice much appreciated!
********************************************************
This is my personal statement regarding any possible negative points of my credit report in further detail.
Possible Negative Point 1- Large amount of money owed in total:
This is for one reason only and that is my student loan amount. I attend a private nursing school and have needed to take out a US Dept of Education loan on the tuition cost. I have been paying back interest that may be building up here and there, but the large amount of money I owe is due entirely to student loans. These are government funded loans and I am not scheduled to begin paying these back until 6 months after my graduation date.
My auto loan remaing balance is under $1000, and per my credit report you can see that it will be paid off in full with 3 more months of regular payments.
Possible Negative Point 2- Low Credit Limit on Revolving Credit Card, and amount owed closer to the total limit:
I recently had a emergency large ticket item on my vehicle and had to turn to my credit card to help pay for the repair. Per my credit report you should see that I have only been over the limit once by error but have maintained this credit card in good standing and most often with very low balances since I received it when I turned 18 in 2006.
Things I would like to be considered:
I am 22 years old and am currently bulding my credit. I have never taken on a financial responsibility I wasn't able to handle and my credit report should reflect that as well. I had a $9,000 car loan that I obtained in May 2008 set to last for 4 years. Through timely payments and extra payments I will be done with this loan much ahead of schedule by the end of 2010.
I have also attached a copy of my Experian Credit Report in full detail as I obtain those free with a monthly subscription in case your source of credit reports don't provide enough detail to support my facts above.
I appreciate you taking time reviewing my statement. I would very much like to be approved for this apartment and therefore felt the need to point out the reasons for any possible negative point of my credit report in further detail.

Question #3:
free credit report - free credit report......................?
why do all these companies want to give me a free credit report? what's the scam, my personal information?Question #4:
Is it possible to remove a PAID charge off from my credit report?
I've finally achieved debt free status! I do have two items on my report that are charge-offs that I have paid. I had paid these a year or two ago before I knew that I should have requested a "pay for deletion". Am I able to send a letter to either the reporting agency or the collection agency to politely request that they delete the charge off from my account?Thank you for the responses!
Yes, none of my debts are credit card bills. The only debts I had was a utility bill, a hospital bill, an old college bill, and a vet bill.
Question #5:
Is there a personality disorder where an individual is focused on one particular person and is never satisfied?
IE: former co-worker interferes with a person's marriage but sending him a letter and when she is able to win over the husband, she continues to follow-up on the individual she targeted in a stalking kind of way.Questions a good therapist should explore in self-reporting before answering this question:
How did someone “interfere” with your marriage, and why?
What was in the letter?
How did your husband respond to the letter?
It is revealing that you use the idea of “won over.” This could indicate a person whose life-view is a “zero-sum game” – everyone and everything is either “won” or “lost” – no in-between, which is not life and people. Is that your approach to life?
If someone or something was “won,” are you then the “loser?” Is that perhaps why you are seeking ammunition?
What shape was your marriage in if your husband was so easily “won over” by a letter?
You reveal much about yourself in your question. You give your husband no credit for being an autonomous human being with a mind, feelings and free will of his own. You trivialize him by portraying him as so easily “won over” by a letter. Is that how you regard him? Is that what he lived in his marriage to you?
What did you do to keep your husband and marriage in response to this person and the letter?
Was your husband “won over” or was there really a reason for him to divorce you?
What reason did your husband give you for divorcing you?
Are you really entirely innocent?
Why would this person target and stalk you – YOU? Describe both of you: appearance, education, career, lifestyle, accomplishments, etc…
What do you mean by “follow up?” Can you be specific?
Why do you feel you are being targeted? What has the individual done to “target” you? What activities?
How has the individual “stalked” you? Can you be specific? What activities?
Have you called the police if you are being “stalked?”
Why would a stalker whose goal is to have your husband continue to stalk YOU after she “won him over?”
Have you sought professional help for your situation, or just cyberspace?
Is the fact that your communication about this is ONE-WAY – unknown, without verification and no dialogue - a type of “control of information?”
Are you really seeking (undeserved) support anonymously in cyberspace for your wounded ego and your version of events?
It is also a form of control and manipulation to accuse – or threaten to accuse – a possible informant of the things you have; the “perpetrator-crying-victim” game.
There is a “character disorder” in which the afflicted individual seeks to “character-assassinate” others when perceiving being wounded; ultra-competitive, below-the-belt, deceitful, manipulative, Machiavellian and hates to lose. Does this apply to you?
What is the individual’s “focus” on YOU exactly? About what – can you be specific? What activities?
When do you think the individual would be finally “satisfied?” What do you think is his/her goal? What has the individual not gotten that he/she ultimately wants – to be “satisfied?”
What other things has the individual done “to” you that did not yet satisfy him/her?
It is interesting that you use the term “personality disorder” – where did you get the term? Are you really “asking,” “projecting” – or seeking support and the appearance of legitimacy for what you have already decided?
Obviously you have done some research if you use the term “personality disorder.” Why have you then not found the answer to this question in your research? Has this term actually been applied to YOU?
Is it perhaps that you are just a “sore loser” and are looking to discredit or defame the “winner?” Sour grapes?
You really must be honest with yourself and others if you truly desire legitimate help and change. Seeking support on the internet from strangers for what you wish instead of what is really the case solves nothing for you.
Why are you not asking about pathological lying instead of worrying about everyone else?
Question #6:
How do I report a scam?
I applied to numerous jobs on Craigslist and got this letter two days later. It is totally a scam and would like to know how and to who to report it to. It is so disappointing to really need a job and get this, or worse how many people actually fall victim to these scams.Thank you for you input.

Question #16:
scammed by New Faces Development Centre in Hicksville...Plz help!!?
Hi! I was stopped at Roosevelt Field Mall by one of the scouts of New Faces Development...He said that this company provided exposure so that I could land into a job in acting or modelling. They gave me a call immediately and booked my interview appointment at New Faces immediately. When I went there it all looked so real....with several people waiting in line to be actors or models...There was music...A TV screen advertising IMTA and showing prominent successful prominent actors who had become successful in life. They asked me to fill out a form...Then this guy called Tim called me in for interview ....and he seemed like he was in a hurry and busy becoz his office was so full of people....He just asked me why I was there and told me that I could do this as a hobby and had a lot to offer in the entertainment industry....He showed me a folder filled with pictures of people that they had photographed at New faces and they had appeared in magazines and print ads....And he had so many of those fotoes...It all sounded so legit. Then he showed me his price list sheet which had all the prices of the fotoes listed....some of them were so costly like over 2100 etc...I told him that I was not working and did not have so much money to pay for them. There was a price for photographing 1 look listed for $750. Then he said "I will give you a discount....I will give you 3 looks for $750". I thought it was a good deal and gave him my credit card. He charged my credit card. Then he said ..."lets get started with the first look photoshoot today...and you come back day after tommorrow to shoot the next two looks with more clothes." He then showed me the make up room where their make up artist did my makeup and their photographer took my photoes.....Then as I walked out of there I felt a bit uneasy....becoz in that meeting he had asked me not to tell anyone about the money that I paid!!....So, I decided to check the internet and OMG...I found a whole bunch of articles stating that it is a scam!! and ripoff reports that they have been reported to BBB also...I printed out some of those ripoff reports and went back yesterday to the New faces center. I told him "I have found reports that you are a scam and want my money back. You have been reported to the BBB". Then he said " Macys, HomeDepot etc have scam reports too but do people stop going there? And now you see scam reports against us....I am not going to let that stop me from doing my business ...We have been in business for 16 years...I have my daughter working for me too....And look at all these people we have placed in the industry."....I said "I dont want to continue this any more and want my money back". He said "Well you took pictures already right?" I said "I have called my credit card people already and have asked them to stop the payment you charged me". He said "You cant just walk into a restaurant and pay there and then cancel the credit card transaction the next day...Thats illegal...YOU are scamming us."....He further said " And you took pictures with us....and look at our price list...We have 1 look for $750...and I was being nice to you by giving you the other two looks for FREE". I argued " But you didnt tell me that the other two looks are free...you just said that you were giving me a discount. So, you can divide the $750 by 3 and deduct $250 and give me back $500 at least". He then went back to his list and said "No!!....Our list says that 11 look was for $750...and I was giving you the other two looks for free. Dont change our words...You are scamming us by changing our words."..So basically he was not going to give me my money back. In the end I asked him to give me my CD of pics...and he said I will have to come back next week to get it plus I will have to pay $45 for the CD also (which was part of the agreement). So, I couldnt argue the fact that his price list had $750 for 1 look and he got me to pay it by telling me about this "discount" and photographing me the same day. So, when I got back I called my credit card people and asked them to let the $750 go through since I couldnt argue his price list. And now I have to go back to get my CD. But I feel scammed. I feel he shouldnt have gone back to his original price list of $750 per look after telling me that he was giving me a discount. And now he is telling me that I am scamming him !!...Plus he told me that "BBB was a Bunch of Bullshit...that gets complaints everyday..."...He said " You cant just listen to negative side of things...You have to listen to positive side of things too.."....Plus he looked at my copy of ripoff reports that I confronted him and told me that the complaints were 6 years old....and he was not believing them!!What should I do? Can something be done to stop these people from extracting money out of people by fool
Can anyone out there PLEASE HELP ME?? PLEASE...
THANKS.
Question #17:
Credit Report Question, assistance is greatly appreciated!?
While browsing my credit report the other day, I noticed Citibank claimed I owed them approximately $3000 for a credit card opened years ago. I remember signing up for this account during my early years of college (for the free shirt), but I never intended to use said card (and I never did). However, after some digging, I found out that my parents used this card without my knowledge to accrue debt which was never paid. My question is, how should I go about handling this? What they did technically constitutes identity theft, since I have NEVER used this account (I am absolutely positive of this, the card wasn't even sent to my school address). My credit score is constantly getting dragged down by an account I never used, regardless of the fact that I've been on time with other loan payments. I'm afraid this could get ugly, but something needs to be done. Thanks for any help! Thanks for all the detailed answers! To my knowledge, they used it to help pay various bills incurred at the time. These may or may not have involved me (e.g. cell phone bills), but they definitely didn't use them to pay for medical expenses (I never needed that) or student assistance (I received student loans every year I went to college, and even some scholarship money). Also, they most certainly didn't tell me, because I had to show them proof before they owned up to it. They probably intended to pay the bill, sure, but once it got out of hand they seemingly just forgot about it. Lastly, I do not have homeowner's/renter's insurance.
Thanks again for the quick and helpful answers everyone (except for that weird religious nutjob). To answer the latest question, the account was opened almost 6 years old but has been continuously accruing interest (apparently).
