Question #1:
Do I have a chance of getting into any of these schools?
Currently I am in my second year at a community college and would like to transfer either Virginia Tech, James Madison University, or Christopher Newport as an English major next fall. Applications are due in a couple months and I am wondering what my chances are.I had average grades in high school. I had a GPA around a 3.0 and did extracurricular activities like Science and History Club all four years, and Students Against Destructive Decisions for two years.
I was also in Girl Scouts for seven years and did a lot of volunteer work.
My SAT scores weren't that great with a total of 1340.
Math- 420
Reading- 470
Writing- 450
Now I am at a community college and have a GPA of 3.6 and by the time I apply I will have 38 credits and then after the Spring 54 credits.I plan on transferring as a second semester Sophomore. I'm not in any clubs, considering there aren't many to choose from.
If you went/go to any of these schools your opinion would be very helpful.
Question #2:
On job applications: What do I say for 'Job related accomplishments' ?
I've cashiered for over 2 yrs. I'm looking around for higher-paying jobs, in areas that I qualify for. What can I possibly list for my "Job Related Accomplishments"?
They never give the cashiers something "special" to do at work. This is what we do:
Register and computer work
Cash, credit/debit card, and check handling
Answer phones and customer questions
Transfer calls
Balancing cash drawer
Organize and maintain my work area
Price products
Book imprint
Assist in creating display tables
Yikes...
Question #3:
Question about scam job offer?
Hi, a few days ago I received an email from s.fisher@hiringstaff.net to let me know that I'm in process of starting the job but they need some information about my credit score. That's the email:Hello,
We have reviewed your application, and would like to move onto the next step of our employment process. Recently, the distribution center was fined for having illegal workers. Therefore, they are asking us to prescreen all possible candidates to prevent this from happening again. We are asking all candidates to submit a current copy of your credit score to go into your employment file.
Your credit report/score will not matter, as it's rather an easy means of verifying your identity and valid citizenship in the US. Below will be a link to obtain your credit score for $1, and once done so, we will be noticed and process you for an in person interview. We are hiring 6 workers, but please act promptly, or the job might be taken. You will need to bring 2 forms of identification with you to the interview.
Your score can be obtained here: Click Here
We appreciate cooperation, and hope to see you for your interview soon.

Question #4:
What would happen if you lied on the income part of a credit card application?
Question #5:
Can a shy person become a sheriff deputy?
I am thinking about becoming a sheriff deputy, but in my town, the require a credit check and my credit is bad. On the application though, it doesn't say it, just on the website. Is this actually a requirement? Also, can a person who is shy break into this field?Question #6:
The worst that can happen if you lie about salary and employment on a credit card application?
I have lied about these for many years - never affected me.I usually say I'm just a secretary and that my salary is very low.
I like lower limits on my credit cards.
How can this affect me in the future in any way.
Been doing this for at least 10 years.
The credit reports just show place of employment.
Not salary.
Have moved 2 times and had 2 mortgages - got the best mtg rates - no problems.
Don't desire higher limits.
Still use only 10% of my limits - if I use the card at all.
Question #7:
A recruiter ask me to go online and do a credit/report, Is it good?
I applied for a job on Internet, the following is what the recruiter answered me:<< Hello,

Thank you for your help.
Question #8:
Why was I declined a Bank of America secured credit card?
This was for a BankAmericard Platinum Plus Visa.It states "Unfortunately, after careful review, we are unable to approve your application because the collateral you provided has been returned for insufficient funds. Our review included an assessment of your application information, economic trends, and a copy of your credit report."
Okay well, I'm a college student and listed $10,000 as income (cash). BoA asked me to deposit $300 and so I did. I also own a credit card with Wells Fargo.
My cousin deposited $300 and got his card, why can't I? Was $10,000 a factor in denying me a secured credit card? Could any of the above mentioned be on conflict with what BoA wanted?
Whoops forgot to mention. I barely started my credit history last year.
I deposited $300 and it is still in my BoA checking account. No check, no bounce. Went directly to BoA from my Wells Fargo Savings account.
Question #9:
I don't understand? Was my mom approved or denied as my co-signer?
I applied for a student loan through WellsFargo.com, and used my mom as a co-signer. Immediately after we completed the co-signer part of the application, on the last page, it said, "Credit Decision : Denied. Application Status : Complete."On my Borrower's Online Access page, it says 'Application Status : In Process. Action Required.' and my Action Steps are 1. Verify additional information (like provide proof of my address and birthdate) and 2. Obtain a co-signer.
I don't understand... does this mean my mom was denied as a co-signer? Or they just haven't decided yet?
I can't get a loan without a co-signer. The bank already said.

Question #11:
I am currently enrolled at Community College. Can I start applying to University already?
But I only took one transferable course in the Summer (3hrs). I need 15 credit hours to transfer as an undergrad, non-freshman. The application asks what classes I will be taking before I plan on transferring. Is it too early to fill out the application, and send it, or can I fill it out and send my transcripts upon completion? I am not dropping any courses this semester. I am taking 13 hours this fall.Question #12:
Felons rights when applying for an apartment?
I was convicted of being a passenger in a stolen vehicle almost 5 years ago. I have rented three separate apartments within this 5 year period and have not had any trouble being approved. I have never been evicted and I also have very good credit.Adding something to the situation at hand, I moved out here to southern California to get sober about 4 years ago and have remained sober ever since. I have completely turned my life around and have not had ANY issues/ conflicts with the law since my conviction in 2005. I have worked at the same job for 3 years, I volunteer my free time to charities and I am very active in the 12-step program that I work.
All of that being said, I recently applied for an apartment in Oceanside, CA in order to move in with my boyfriend. He rented the apartment almost 2 months ago and as my lease was/ is coming to an end, I then applied to be added to the lease. Like I said before, I have not had any trouble getting approved for apartments in the past and therefore saw no reason as to why I would be denied at this apartment complex. Sure enough, I get a phone call yesterday stating that I am denied only because of my criminal history. I politely asked the representative if there was anything I could do to prove the fact that I am now a law abiding, upstanding citizen and she informed me that she would email me the steps to go about appealing this decision. In the mean time, I obtained about 15 character reference letters, both personal and professional, to start building my appeal. I received her email last night and the only option it is providing is an option to have my application re-investigated. My boyfriend called the front office and she very rudely stated that unless I can prove that their background check is incorrect, there is no reason for me to try to appeal this decision.
Does anyone have any knowledge as to whether this is discriminatory or if I have any rights as a renter to actually appeal this decision? Any ideas will be welcomed! :)
Please keep all rude comments to yourself. I am not asking for an opinion about my previous, stupid actions.
Thanks!
Question #13:
will I be able to rent somewhere if I owe money at another place anyone been in this situation?
I owe our previous apartments a balance and now I am being terminated at the place I am at so I am worried that since I owe the other place money no one will rent to me. Do I need to list them on an application if I try and apply for another place? I looked on my credit report and it doesn't list my debt to the other place, since it is so recent, so do you think the places I apply at will even know since it isn't on my credit report? What is your experience with this type of situation?Question #14:
I'm in somewhat of a slump, could do with some direction and / or advice?
I'll try and split these up into manageable chunks:I'm 23 year old male not unemployed but direct debits are slowly increasing and interest-free overdrafts will be coming to an end next summer. I have great personal skills and varied work and volunteer experience, but nothing 'relevant' or 'substantial' enough to get me a job with a salary where I can begin paying off debts / overdrafts / credit cards / student loans etc I can't do anything about not having relevant experience as I cant compete with 40 other people who have more experience (recent job application statistic there). The feeling of numerous rejections is both unrelenting and frustrating as I haven't been able to come to a solution.
10 months ago I relocated to an area 500 miles away from my hometown and have yet to make any friends to hang out with, and have lost touch with all uni friends / most of friends from hometown. I'm living with girlfriend and we both have very little social events up here and most nights stay in watching tv. We are both gaining weight slowly but surely, my girlfriend is trying to do something about it but my self-esteem is low from all these failed job applications.
I also have a history of depression, started from a poor choice in university course in which I attained a 3rd and has been rearing its ugly head up periodically when things get a bit too much for me. My girlfriend has a lot of experience of mental illness as her long-term ex was severely depressed and eventually took his own life. This limits my options somewhat as I can't put her through that again.
I have weighed up escape plans - the possibility of starting anew somewhere like America or Japan (love Japan), blowing my credit cards to their limits and claiming bankruptcy, though not sure how bad it can get and don't want my girlfriend to suffer a ill-informed impulse (we have joint account and she could feel repercussion forever if I declare bankruptcy). Again, idyllic but ill-informed impulses will not be acted upon due to backlash against girlfriend who doesn't deserve any of that.
I think that's everything. Increasing / impending debts, poor job, very limited other jobs available, no social network and little support network, deteriorating physical and mental health, lack of options / escape options or general lights at end of tunnel.
Some words of encouragement would be nice. Potentially some form of solution / partial problem solver. Someone offering me a decent salaried job would be a great start! I don't particularly think talking to someone would benefit me as there is so much to cover so as you can imagine I find it difficult to know where to begin and don't think a poor volunteer would have much constructive to say.
Thanks in advance
Question #15:
Can an occupant of an apartment be charged with a broken lease on their credit?
I was living with my brother and the apartment was in his name. At the signing of the first lease I was only 17 and never submitted employer information. The last time we renewed the lease I was 19 but never filled out an application or submitted employer information. My brother decided to jet and didn't want to pay rent anymore so I left too. Now there is a potentially harmful statelment on my credit report from the apartments. So now I am trying to rent my own apartment and that is preventing me from moving on with my life. So I need to know how to dispute this please help me!!Question #16:

Question #17:
Stressing out about car loan application?
My partner applied for a car loan for a new car ($24990) yesterday (Wed) and is yet to hear back. Is this a good/bad/indifferent sign? He has a perfect credit history, a long history of stable employment with a reputable national institution and he's putting the new car up as collatoral against the loan. The only downside is that he owes some money on a couple of credit cards. Would a car loan application be knocked back for that?? I'd really appreciate advice with this as it's fairly stressful waiting to hear back. Thanks in advance.Question #18:
Mixed content warning on SSL Page?
Hi I have created a credit card form for an asp.net e-commerce application. This form is the only page in the website that needs to function under SSL. I am using an http module to automatically redirect this page to https when it is requested. All works fine except that the page keeps coming up with the mixed content warning. This is a major issue in IE because if the user clicks yes on the warning to display only secure content then everything on the page stops working! I know that the usual cause of this warning is links to unsecure resources on hte page, but I have rewritten all the links on hte page to be either relative links or to have https as the protocol rather than http. The warning still apears! I have even gone so far as to put it in a modal popup window with no links whatsoever on it and I am still getting the error. I am at a loss as to what is causng this has anyone had a similiar problem or any idea as to what could be the cause? There are no images on the form either
